They cover all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, and offer help in over 200 languages.

2.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

What they offer:
If you’re having thoughts of suicide, serious emotional distress, or mental-health/substance-use crises, this is a direct lifeline. It’s free, confidential, and staffed 24/7 by trained crisis counselors. They’ll listen, de-escalate, support you, and if needed help you connect to local services (hospital, mobile crisis, therapy) in your region.

3.

Crisis Text Line

Contact Info:

  • Text HOME to 741741

What they offer:
Free, 24/7 support by text (rather than phone call). Trained volunteer crisis counselors will chat with you about what’s going on—whether that’s anxiety, depression, self-harm thoughts, feeling alone, bullying, etc.

It’s great if you find talking on the phone too hard or you’re in a setting where a call isn’t feasible or safe.
